Frequently Asked Questions
- Which reports can be discussed?
- Any written medical report, for example MRI, CT and X-ray reports, discharge letters and doctor’s letters, blood tests and lab results, biopsy and pathology reports, as well as ultrasound, ECG and lung function reports. The written report is what matters; image files alone are not enough.
- Does this replace my treating doctor?
- No. The doctor explains what your report says and answers your questions about it. Diagnosis and treatment remain with the doctor who examined you and knows your history. You go into your next appointment with a clear picture and the right questions.
- What do I need to prepare?
- Your report as a photo or PDF, which you upload right after booking, and your questions. A phone or computer with camera and microphone is all you need.
- How long does the consultation take?
- An appointment is set at 20 minutes. That is enough for one report and your questions about it. If you have several reports, book two consecutive appointments.
- What does it cost and how is it billed?
- €19.99 for the consultation and the written summary. Billing is private, under the German scale of fees for doctors (GOÄ); you receive an invoice listing the individual fee items. Privately insured patients and civil servants with Beihilfe are usually reimbursed by their insurer; statutory health insurance does not reimburse.
